They brought them into this world, and now, they’re taking them out!

Building and maintaining a radio antenna is expensive. There’s just so much that goes into it: the cost of the land itself, the actual installation of the tower, the price of fixing things when they break — and that’s all just for the towers that broadcast AM radio signals, aka the stations only listened to by sports fans and psychopaths!

Given this, it’s not surprising that some municipalities choose to tear down the tower rather than dealing with continuing costs. In this case, the tower was torn down by cutting the support beams and watching the whole thing fall.
